The global pandemic affects everyone, but it poses the biggest threat to people who are already vulnerable and discriminated against. The right of these people to health care is already restricted, while the COVID-19 situation could lead to a shortage of food and obstacles to making a living. Securing a livelihood directly and the opportunity to work from home are considered to be assets during this difficult time. We need creative thinking, design that helps and direct action more than ever.
Driven by this idea, Tikau and Tom Dixon have decided to launch an initiative to develop a design to provide livelihoods for discriminated Indian communities in their homes in rural India. All the proceeds from the sales will be donated locally in India to help vulnerable communities in coming months.
